Should I register?

This conference is for young people (between the ages of 17 and 34) who have demonstrated leadership (such as community organizers, activists and entrepreneurs) and are committed to making a living while making change. If this is you, then you should you should register.

What meals will be provided?

YSEC will provide a light breakfast, including coffee and tea to all participants. For lunch and dinner participants can buy food in the area, or bring their own. Restaurants in the area include: Subway, Tim Hortons, Second Cup, Aroma, Dazzling, Ultimate Cafe, among many others.

Are accommodations available?

Participants are responsible for securing their own accommodations. However, YSEC, for those who are interested, will work to arrange housestays, either with local conference participants or other trusted members of the YSEC community. Once you are given confirmation of your attendance, part of the registration process will be to answer a series of questions regarding a housestay.

Otherwise, YSEC recommends the following hostels (where you can also get private rooms) within a 10-15 minute walk of the conference venue:

3. Clarence Castle

Are there any subsidies?

YSEC is currently working on securing subsidies for registration. We will also provide you with any support and documentation you need to get sponsored by organizations and business’ within your community.

What is the cost?

The conference has a $150 registration fee. This covers all material, breakfast and transportation between conference venues. This fee does not cover accommodations, lunch and dinner.

How do I register?

The first step to registering for the conference is to fill out an application form along with a refundable deposit of $25 to hold your spot. Note: deposits are fully refundable if your application is unsuccessful or if you withdraw your application at any time. For successful applicants, your deposit will be put toward the registration fee.

All applicants will receive a response within 5 days of submitting their application, letting them know if their application was successful.

A conference package with more information will be sent out to all attendees once registration is complete.

Do I have to attend the entire conference?

Yes.
